The Geekfire development process takes a card from the open source world and provides public access to as much of our source code as we feasibly can. By having such an open process we welcome the world at large to critique and analyze our work so that we can provide better tools with which we can change the world. In accordance with this attitude we also strongly support the use of only open-source technologies in our development and deployment process. In particular we use FreeBSD for all servers and most desktops, PostgreSQL for our databases, roundup for our bug tracking, git for our source repository, and Python for all of our backend development.
