Michael Richardson

Though born in rural Idaho, Michael calls Portland home. He has always believed in the value of technology and, in 2006, he drew on the experience and inspiration from his time as Portland City Commissioner Sam Adams' Technology Innovation Director to found Geekfire, Inc. He invited long-time friends Alex, Aaron and Adam to join him. Michael serves as Geekfire's president, overseeing all company projects and guiding their progress while also managing the business side and developing new client relationships. He spends his free time cycling around the city or practicing judo.

Alexander Botero-Lowry

While some children are born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and others are born with a football in their crib, Alex was born with a Commodore 64 in hand. It was only a matter of time before he became involved in open source development. Alex's initial involvement with open source was with Stampede Linux. Later, he became involved in a variety of other projects including XMMS2 and FreeBSD. As Geekfire's Director of Technology, Alex works on the framework and infrastructure necessary to make Geekfire's projects possible as well as providing support and advice for much of the frontend work.

Aaron Faanes

Aaron is Geekfire's Assistant Director of Technology, which is business-card-speak for programmer. Not long after he could read, he began programming with QBasic and later advanced into the world of amateur game development in C++ and DirectX. While a CS major at the University of Texas at Dallas, he joined up with Geekfire, and in order to meet the ambitious frontend demands of EventMagnet, created Sparks.

Adam Faanes

Adam was born in Minnesota and raised in the suburbs of Fort Worth, Texas. An Eagle Scout and a graduate of the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Sciences, Adam enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin to study history, economics, and government. He was intending to pursue a career in law until he saw the opportunity and vision of Geekfire. As Vice President, his duties include working with Michael in presenting the business and its projects, and assisting with financial planning for the corporation. In his spare time, he pursues his interests in politics.
